In 2D Illustration we have do choose an old job which doesn’t exist anymore and have to develop a little story. So my job is the lamplighter. When I thought about the story I googled generally storytelling first and found an interesting article with tips from pixar.<\/p>\n

So here are some rules:<\/p>\n

  1. You have to admire the figure more for their tries than for the success.<\/li>\n
  2. Always think about the viewer and what he likes.<\/li>\n
  3. Try to write about a theme.<\/li>\n
  4. Start with phrases like – There once was.. One day..<\/li>\n
  5. Try to make it simple.<\/li>\n
  6. Confront your character with his fears.<\/li>\n
  7. Be sure of the end.<\/li>\n
  8. The story will never be perfect.<\/li>\n
  9. When you don’t know how to go further make a list what you don’t want to have next.<\/li>\n
  10. Look at stories you like and search the elements you like.<\/li>\n
  11. It’s easier when it’s written on a sheet of paper.<\/li>\n
  12. Avoid the obvious.<\/li>\n
  13. Give your character meanings.<\/li>\n
  14. What would you feel when you where the character in this moment.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    So my story will be about the lamplighter who is aware of the darkness.<\/p>\n
